Located across Tachikawa City and Akishima City, this national park was established to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Emperor Showa’s reign.

Under the theme of “restoration of greenery and improvement of humanity,” the park is still being developed, and approximately 90%, or 165 hectares, of the final total area of 180 hectares is now open.

The park is divided into five zones with various facilities and playground equipment, and many events are held there. The park is larger than other parks, so it is advisable to plan a stroll in advance or to visit the park repeatedly.

The Showa Park is located nearby and offers a variety of sports activities and a zoo.
