The Jindai Botanical Garden is a metropolitan botanical park in Chofu City where visitors can enjoy the beauty of plants, trees and flowers throughout the four seasons.

As the name suggests, the garden is next to the grounds of the famous Jindai Ji Temple which is worth visiting while checking out the cherry blossoms.

100,000 plants of about 4,500 varieties are planted in the park. Blocks are divided by plant type, such as the rose garden, azalea garden, and plum garden, so that visitors can learn about plants while enjoying the scenery, and families and friends can enjoy and learn about plants together.

There are 800 cherry trees of 65 varieties, including satozakura and someiyoshino cherry trees. The cherry blossom garden near the center of the park and the lawn park are ideal locations for family picnics, and the rows of someiyoshino cherry trees that line the entrance to the rose garden are said to be other spectacular features.

In addition, the rare species of cherry trees called “Benishidare” and “Jindai Akebono” are also famous for their particular beauty. The Chofu Airfield is located nearby, and there are also many cherry blossom viewing spots such as Musashino Park and Nogawa Park in the vicinity.
