Here we check out the best places to view the cherry blossom in Kita-ku, Tokyo. Whether you want to take a few quick snaps or throw a hanami party, these beautiful sakura spots are sure to satisfy.

 Ukima Park

Between Itabashi and Kita wards in Tokyo, this park with a large pond stretches to the north in front of Ukima Funawatari Station on the JR Saikyo Line. Approximately 200 cherry trees are planted around the pond, and the cherry blossoms are concentrated in a row of approximately 180 m long cherry blossom trees. A windmill installed as a symbol of the park is located by the pond near the row of cherry trees, and the scenery with the row of cherry trees is picturesque from any angle.

Kita-ku Chuo Park

The entire park is planted with approximately 220 cherry trees, but the concentration of the trees makes it possible to enjoy even more magnificent cherry blossoms than the number of trees. In the lawn park, you can hear wild birds chirping among the trees and enjoy cherry blossom viewing while relaxing and soaking in nature.

Asukayama Park

Located in Kita-ku, Tokyo, Asukayama Park is one of the oldest parks in Japan along with “Ueno Onshi Koen”, “Shiba Koen”, and “Fukagawa Koen”, which were designated by a proclamation of the Grand Council of State in 1873.

Otonashi Water Park

This park was built on the old channel of the Otonashi River and has been selected as one of the “100 Best Urban Parks in Japan. It is a park decorated with water, rocks, and greenery, and a promenade is maintained. The cherry blossoms blooming all over the park and the presence of the Otonashi Bridge that passes above the park are representative of the park. The cherry blossoms create a tunnel on the well-maintained stone pavement, and the wooden bridge, pavilion, and other Japanese-style structures are calming.
